Crafted from genuine, recycled sailing rope, a solid wooden bead, and tied in a traditional sailor's knot, each piece bears the marks of past voyages. The elaborate knot around the wooden ball originates from seafaring, where it is known as a "monkey's fist". Identical in design, but on a much larger scale, it is attached to the ends of mooring lines and thrown to the dockworkers standing on the pier, who catch it and secure the lines to the cleats.

The key ring comes in a natural-colored kraft paper gift box, in which it can also be given as a gift directly.
