The secret lies in your skin undertone. You can determine it very easily with two quick tests:

• The vein test: Look at the veins on your wrist in daylight. If they shimmer bluish-violet, you have a cool undertone – silver suits you perfectly. If they look more greenish, your undertone is warm – gold makes your skin glow. If they shimmer blue-green, you are a neutral type and can wear absolutely anything!

• The white test: Without makeup and in daylight, hold a pure white and then a cream (or beige) piece of clothing directly under your face. Does pure white make your eyes shine and make you look fresh? Then you are a cool type (silver/white gold). If pure white makes you look pale, but you immediately look vibrant and warm in cream, you are a warm type (yellow gold).

Styling tip: When in doubt, use bicolor looks to combine the best of both worlds.

Use the 5-centimeter rule. For the perfect layered look, you need three different lengths (e.g., 40 cm, 45 cm, and 50 cm).
